Her early successes in the arts of performing, and which we now know as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly qualify her for her place in the "child prodigy" category. It was an innate trait for a girl from Irish heritage, that was surrounded during her early years by talented family members and parents. Maureen was born in this cosy refuge on the 17th of August 1920. Her family was her parents and family members. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons is her mother. She was a skilled contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and also owned part of the famous Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons' was the second FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen enjoyed playing sports as a kid and was a pro in athletics. This passion was combined with an equally natural aptitude to perform. This was apparent when she won each Feis for theatre and drama which Ireland could offer. At the age of 14 she joined an organization called the Abbey Theater to follow her aspirations and pursue studies in classical theatre and operatic vocals.
